Valor Clinic / Paul’s House
Located at 1130 Scenic Drive, Kunkletown.
The Valor clinic is an organization for Veterans to help other Veterans navigate through the process of recovering and rebuilding. Valor’s long-term vision is to be able to provide health clinics, more homeless shelters, transition homes and recovery sanctuaries for Veterans in need. The Valor Clinic/Paul’s House accommodates 13 Veterans a day. They are served 3 healthy meals a day. The program is dependent on community donations and volunteers. Donations can be made for Veterans transitioning to future employment opportunities. Volunteer meetings are the first Monday of each month at 7:00pm at the Valor Clinic in Jonas. Aquashicola / Pohopoco Watershed Conservancy - The Aquashicola / Pohopoco Watershed Conservancy is dedicated to preserving waters, wetlands, and wildlife within the 189 square miles of watershed in northeastern Pennsylvania. The Conservancy members meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm at the Polk Township Municipal Building. For more information visit the website atWWW.APWC-PA.COM.
Polk Township Veterans Memorial – Located on Interchange Rd. passed the intersection of Interchange Rd. and Scenic Dr. (Route 209 & 534) across from the Kresgeville Post Office. The Veterans Memorial was built in 1995-96 to honor and remember all the Veterans in Polk Township. The land was donated by Dick and Blanche Strausberger in memory of their son. A service is held every Memorial Day to honor our Veterans. A candle lit Christmas tree lighting is held annually at the Memorial. This is a family event with refreshments and a special visitor from the North Pole, Santa Clause, riding on a firetruck!!

Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company
Located at 511 Interchange Rd., Kresgeville
The dedicated men and woman have been serving and protecting the township since April 22, 1969. In 2016 Polk Township Fire Company responded to approximately 170 calls. The fire company is always welcoming new members, either to join as a firefighter, social member or auxiliary member. To help raise funds to aid and protect our community we hold weekly bingo on Thursday nights, and breakfast on the 3rd Sunday of the month – except July and August. Polk Township Historical Society – Learn the history of Polk Township. Polk Township Historical Society meets the first Monday of the month at the Polk Township Municipal Building except their September 6th meeting which will take place at the R.M. Andrews Memorial Archives which is located at 104 Lodge Hall Rd. The Polk Township Historical Society will be holding their annual Yard Sale May 12 and 13. Items of value may be donated the first week in May to the Historical Society at the Polk Township Municipal building.
